Today we held a press conference to talk about Faith in Action’s civic engagement plans for 2024 with:

Executive Director, Bishop Dwayne Royster (in video)
Rev. Deth Im, Director of Faith Leadership (in video)
Rev. Nicole Barnes, Director of Civic Engagement
Omar Angel Perez, Immigrant Justice Director

We must organize together to truly be the architects of a nation that values dignity and inclusion.
Today is the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 which prohibits racial discrimination in voting.

It’s 2024 and we’re still seeing racially motivated legislation attempting to make voting harder for Black and Brown folks across the US. The work is not done.

We stand in the legacy of multi-faith organizing which is at the core of the Faith in Action network.

ORGANIZE.
ORGANIZE.
ORGANIZE.
A statement from our Executive Director, Bishop Dwayne Royster on President Biden’s ending his candidancy for re-election.

“Following President Joe Biden’s announcement this afternoon that he is ending his candidacy for re-election, I am writing you to share that we at Faith in Action thank President Biden for his lifetime of service and affirm our steadfast focus on ensuring that all voters, especially Black and Brown voters, who are all-too-often ignored and taken for granted, can — and do — vote this November.”
On the 10th anniversary of Eric Garner's murder, we hold close to the grief we feel as well as the urgency to fight for the safety of all our community members as well as police accountability.

As people of faith, we also understand that breath is holy and sacred and how unbelievably unjust it is for it to be taken away in such an indignant way. We join Eric Garner's family and loved ones in their grief and remembrance of such a beloved father, son, and friend.

Eric Garner should still be here.
